Tis a dangerous shop to go into right enough....there should be a law against having TS-E lenses on display. That 24mm isn't getting any less tempting

It's fatal (to the wallet) going into that shop. It's my local proper photographic supplier, and every time I go there I spend about three times what I planned to. Spare batteries and a polarising filter = new lens + plus the original purchases...........

Having read that other post, I'm very surprised. My wife has a similar problem with a Sigma teleconverter, which was the wrong type due to an incorrect bar-code label. Took it back into the shop when we realsied it wouldn't fit the lens it was bought for - no problem, exchanged, new receipt, warranty et al. the correct ype was more expensive, but we weren't even asked for the extra £.

These days most suppliers can get things to you the next day, but to me, the measure of a good company is how they handle things when all does not go well.

I now deal almost exclusively with SRS Microsystems. The last but one order I got from them did go wrong (due to their couriers getting it wrong). They were on the phone to me straight away and got the problem sorted, and my last order cost a little less than I expected.

As I said, the one thing I find unacceptable is for a vendor to go quiet and hope the problem will go away.

Both P**k and I lost out due to their mistake. Since that, I have put a bit over £3k of bussines SRS's way and I no longer have a large camera supplier within driving distance.

Ho Hum.

But so well weatherproofed Nick that you could prop open the coal bunker lid in January gale with one - as I do with my D2X if there are no cats about I can use.

Yup, while I could be out taking photos with my, er, weatherproofed camera I haven't got.
