Hadrian's Wall at Caw Gap

It's a bit hard to compete with Roger Clegg for photos of the wall. I like the contrast of the pink foxgloves against the bright blue sky. What do you think ? Lisa.

I know it's just a matter of personal taste (or not ) but I think I would either increase the contrast (did you use a polariser?) and darken the blue in the sky a tad. Or go the other way and try an Orton effect? Either way, I'm probably nit picking as I'd put it up on my wall (a nice canvas print).

I love this area of the World.

Darken the blue? Not from what I can see on my monitor, that'd be going OTT. I like it just the way it is. Great colour, nice contrast, and good composition - a winner.

Thanks for the comments, Richard and Zou. I did use a polariser and that made the sky a dark almost mediterranean blue which I thought was a bit OTT. So, I lightened things us a bit and in doing so I think I've made 'the wall' on the right a bit over exposed.

I think you're right - the light on the wall looks very harsh to me. Otherwise nice.

Thank you for the comments. I've had another go and think this one is a bit less harsh/bright although the difference is subtle.
