world turning crazy
      #806509 - 01/07/2009 11:30

hi all,

i have been readign the little reports on here about police arresting people with cameras and until now i thought it was carzy and posibly not happening that much to normal looking public.

today i was out in my local town Cheadal and walked past a man taking photos of the flowers around the town. i later walked past the man as he was being arrected under suspicion of the terrisim act. tha man was tryin to defend himself and showing the officer what he was taking photos of but the police officer was having none of it.

the world has turned totally crazy, im now dedating going out on me own with the camera especially with been 8 and half month pregnant. the guy did not look put of the ordinary or anything.

suppose always best to carry course module book incase anyone does question it there is back up to hand of what your doing but how on earth can you complete photos with out risk of been arrected. they will be banning the sale of camera or something before long crazy!!!!

I went to London earlier in the year and was mostly ok - one person shouted at me in canary wharf but there was lots of us taking photos so I just shrugged at him - took a photo of him and walked off (quite quickly). The one that really got to me was when I took a quick snap of my partner going down the escalator in a shopping ctr and the security guard told me off! MY friend in a SHOPPING CTR!

I know they have to be paranoid to a certain extent but it really is quite extreme now. Very sad that they feel they have to be this way

I am being treated to a weekend in Prague next month (for my birthday - I dont normally get treated to holidays lol) so it will be interesting to see how I get on there.

Ah but therein lies the problem. The shopping centre is a private piece of land/property. They allow you access to it to go to the shops but it is their land/property. Therefore they can impose whatever rules they want - if that is a no photography ruling then so be it...

I've been told off for it many times... Its usually better asking the shopping centre manager first...
