Tutors?
      #805944 - 29/06/2009 19:11

Hi All

Does anyone know if Scott Lewis is still acting as a tutor on this course?

As some of you may have realised (by the lack of completed Modules posted!), I haven't been in a position to progress with my AP Diploma. However, I am now hopeful that my circumstances will allow me to carry on with the Diploma but I believe that my three year deadline expires next month (where did that three years go?)! I have emailed Admin and Laura over the weekend to discuss this and I am awaiting a reply. However, I'm not able to send a PM to Scott as his in-box is not accepting any further posts.

Hi Paul

I'll draw your post to the attention of SPI Admin

On a general note Laura Bianco no longer works for SPI therefore PMs are best sent to Admin above or alternatively email spiadmin at ipcmedia.com

Thanks Mark, that would be great. I 'think' I emailed admin too but not sure if sent to the correct address. Thanks again.

Hi Paul,

If you get a reply regarding the 3 years time limit would you post it on the forum, as I am fast approaching my 3 years and have no chance of completing the course in time (where does it go!!!!)
Scott marked a module for me about 5 weeks ago

Hi Lee,

I see Mark has already posted a reply for you. I have sent an email to a couple of the addresses mentioned but as yet had no reply. I'm hoping to hear something this week so I know one way or the other, then I can get out and about and get snapping and finish Mod 4

I think the lack of activity on this forum is an indication of how many students on this course have not found it easy to make progress. In order to ask a question of my tutor (Scott Lewis) I had to copy a PM to him to admin. He replied to them and then they copied to me!! It has not been possible to PM my tutor for a very long time now. Its not how it was supposed to work or how it worked when I began the course.
Good luck with your request.

Scott is (was) my tutor but the last two modules have been marked by Gary. Maybe someone could clarify?

Thanks for the posts. Doesn't sound ideal does it? Scott is/was my tutor so I think it would help if things were clarified, especially as I will be sending in my modules for marking etc.

Right, let's get Module 4 finished

Hello

Due to personal reasons Scott has asked (and may occasionally do so until further notice), another tutor to mark some modules. This is to ensure your work be returned to you as soon as possible. He thought it better to pass them over and have them returned as soon as possible as opposed to taking longer to mark them.

Please do let me know if you have any further queries

Thanks

Jess

Hi Jess, thanks for the update. So if we have any queries or specific questions to ask with regard to our modules, should we direct them to you? In the past we just sent them to Scott but under the circumstances (and bearing in mind that his mail box isn't accepting emails) I take it we need an alternative contact?

I just sent an email with a couple of questions direct to spiadmin@ipcmedia.com and received a reply that way. Not as useful as being able to email your tutor direct as before.

Hi Guys,

I am Charlene the new course administrator!!

Scott no longer works as a tutor with us but you are all very lucky to now have Garry Mcnamara as your tutor, he has kindly taken on Scotts students.
Scott and Garry are good friends and Garry was his tutor at college so he knows how Scott works and they both have very similiar views when it comes to photography so i'm sure you will all be very happy with him.

Sorry to confuse you all but obviously due to other circumstances and commitments Scott was unable to continue as a tutor.

If you have any questions or problems please contact me directly on spiadmin@ipcmedia.com or 0203 148 4326

I am very sorry to have lost Scott as a tutor. He has been so patient and helpful with all my questions throughout the course and knows how far each of his students has progressed. I have only got my personal project left to do-am I to assume that the 2 possibilities that I discussed at length with Scott will still be OK or do I need to get in touch with Gary-who I dont know?
Please pass on my best wishes to Scott in whatever he does next-he was a good tutor.

What a shame! I though Scott was great, though obviously Gary is too, especially since he's now my tutor

Did anyone get an answer on the extension? I'm almost through with photos for the last 3 modules, but the project hasn't quite got off the starting blocks and I think my 3 years is up in October.
