Nikon D200 32GB MEMORY CARD PROBLEM
      #805397 - 27/06/2009 13:03

Hi,

I just bough a 32gb Memory card for my nikon d200 and on raw and jpg format it only takes 17 shots with the new card in it.

I had a 4gb CARD in it before but it seams to only allow 17 shots in the 32bg CARD for some reason, can anyone help I bought it for more storage and it should have way more...

Any suggestions welcome

After doing a google, I think the maximum card size is 16GB for the D200.

It might say more in the manual.

You could email Nikon Customer Support and ask them, they are normally really good in replying

Edit: Did you format the card in the camera before using?

What size does your card reader/computer measure it as? It may be a fake card. Where did you buy from?

I think Fen is right, if the computer will only recognise a 16GB card it will give unpredictable results with a bigger one. Sometimes it just recognises the 16GB.

It is just possible that the card(s) are formatted in FAT16 rather than FAT32 which is required for cards over 2GB. You can check on your computer and it might be worth forcing a FAT32 format (use the full format rather than the quick format). You may wish to format again in the camera as this is the recommended proceedure.
