Hi
Last week, I got caught out with my Canon 100-400, it ended up getting a bit wet, tried my hardest to keep it dry, but to no avail, indoors it steamed up inside, then went OK, then steamed up again, looks like it has moisture in it.
Also, if I look through the lens, it looks as though there are a couple of water spots inside the first layer of glass!
So, where is the best place to go, I am in manchester so have a Callumet store close
I thought CPS may be an option, but last time I tried to join i had the lens but I was a body missing even though I had a 1D mkII and 40D, the 40D didn't count at the time, I hear that has changed now though!

Unless someone suggests otherwise...
I think I remember someone saying that they put their lens in the airing cupboard to solve this problem.
Don't do it unless others confirm this. But sure I remember correctly.

Yes-put it somewhere warm and dry and it should dry out-an airincupboard would be ideal. Just don't iron it.

I have dried out gear by placing it in a sealed plastic bag along with some dried out silica gel (you can get it from shoe shops and electrical shops - just ask around). That for at least a day if not longer should dry out a lot of the moisture.
If it got a rather heavy soaking then let it dry out in the airing cupboard or similar first to get the larger amounts of water out.

Once you have dried it out...obviously check they electris work ok...but also have a good look to make sure there are no water marks on the internal glass.

I think it had dried now, it has been in a warm place.
I can see water marks through the lens, on the second layer of glass I think, probably droplets of condensation?
Can they be removed, they are towards the outside of the glass
