City Centre Professional Cycling - Tour Series - Exeter is next
      #794574 - 22/05/2009 09:21

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the opening session of this series last night in Milton Keynes. Many more venues around England - hopefully you'll get more notice than I did when my first notice was on regional TV at 6.45pm. This opening race was blessed with really good weather.

Lots of chances to try photographing the riders as they go round the same ~1.5km circuit several times. I came away with some really good shots, and had nearly as good access as the professionals I suspect. Canon had their logo on the ID vests of the Press togs - many of whom were shooting with Nikon.

The Tour Series website

Further venues to be visited on Tuesday and Thursday evenings - and it's free:

Exeter, Woking, Peterborough, Blackpool, Southport, Stoke-on-Trent and Chester.

I did watch a previous incarnation of this series a few years ago in Crawley and it was a great evening. Plenty of photo opportunities and places for 'refreshment. I was also looking forward to it visiting Guildford, picturesque cobbled high street etc. It poured down, torrential rain real tropical stuff. I do intend to get to Smithfield though for the Nocturne.

If you saw the ITV4 coverage last night (7-8pm), I appeared a few times as the white haired guy with a camera! My partner wasn't so sure - was that really you!
