New HVL-F20AM Flash
      #793283 - 17/05/2009 16:34

Has anyone seen any details on the new flash, and if it can act as a controller on the A900... really missing my wireless flash and not prepared £400 on a HVL-58AM just to use as a trigger for my existing HVL-56AM! The new flash is GN20 and $130 (£85) if its the new protocol (and why would it not be) I am hoping its a cheap solution to TTL off camera flash again.

Anyone seen any details?

Well, to answer my own question (thanks to Dyxum) it can.

The Sony Press Release states:
Quote:

The HVL-F20AM doubles as an ideal wireless flash controller for the full-frame α900. While Sony’s flagship DSLR does not have its own integrated flash, the HVL-F20AM can be used as an inexpensive trigger for wireless remote flash heads.

Even without ratio mode, as long as it fires my 56 from am A900 I am a very happy bunny!
