**Bear in mind this is from Pentax Canada and, may not, be indicative of Pentax Uk ***
I received the information at work a few days ago regarding the Pentax Canada price increases ..effective April 1, 2009 and, nope, it is not an April Fool's Day prank
There are some price increases that are, IMVHO, reasonable and then there are some prices that, again IMVHO, are a tad unreasonable and those Price Increases are as follows:
DA 35 MACRO --- + $200 FA 31/1.8 ---- +$360 FA 35/2 --- + $280 FA 43/1.9 -- + $360 FA50/1.4 -- + $80 FA 77/1.8 -- + $280 DA 50-135/2.8 -- + $640 -- NOT A MISTAKE DA 300/4 -- + $120 DA 12-24/4 -- + $440 DA 40/2.8 -- + $160
AF360FGZ -- + $164 AF540FGZ -- + $225
There ya go lads ..... read 'em and weep ....
Cheers,
Jack

I presume those are Canadian Dollars? Unfortunately without knowing the starting prices I can't relate those increases to anything.
Just one example would put the increases into perspective.

1 Canadian Dollar = £0.57p as at time of postng. Like Titanic, the pound may only stay afloat for a while.................

Hi John,
For the perspective, I just sold our last DA 50-135/2.8 for $909 and if I were to order in another DA 50-135 it would sell for:
DA 50-135/2.8 -- + $640 -- NOT A MISTAKE
And I shall the arithematic -- geez, when was the last time you saw/heard that word -- to you
Cheers,
Jack

I have been watching prices and have just ordered one of these from WHE, as I fear they may also be on the increase:
Manfrotto 322RC2 Heavy Duty Grip Action Ball Head. Saw one in action on a landscape shoot day out with the club and it was so fast!
Christmas day is tomorrow!

Yes, you mean the 222 I presume. That is also a very versatile grip.
