Camera Raw update for Mac

Have just bought elements 6 for mac, and looking forward to learning how to use it. It came with Camera Raw 4.3.1, and I see that I can update to CAmera Raw 5.3, only when I try and install it Elements says it doesn't recognise the plug-in. What should I do?

Sorry for the basic question.
