Availability of Kodak Ektar 100
      #729944 - 13/11/2008 20:07

Anyone seen Ektar 100 for sale in the UK? I would like to try a roll or two.

I am a B&W man at heart, and process my own, but for the most part I have had my colour efforts processed by the professionals.

Years ago, when the kids came along, I abandoned slides (CT18, all horribly perished) for negative film to get a pack of prints, but could never get any decent scans from the negatives. This resulted in a swap back to (Fuji) slides in recent years. However my Epson 4990 is quite happy scanning colour negs, indeed it seems to be able to do better with them than with rather dense Provia trannies, so Ektar looks to be well worth a go.

I am looking for some, as well. It was supposed to be available by the start of November in Europe, but despite daily googleing I can't find any. The bigger places in the US have it in stock, but I dare not buy any from there, as Cyprus customs have a bad habit of X-raying overseas mail, but EU mail is exempt.

The only thing I could find was on Amazon (dispatched and sold by "Avides Media AG") @ £16.58. As this price seemed extortionate I went straight to their site and ordered directly (£32 for 4 including p+p):

I'll let you know how I get on and if it arrives successfully!

Thanks folks. I already spend far too much with 7dayshop, but this is a must!

I have a roll, I'm going to give it a try with some long exposure road side photography in Leamington with an 80B filter.
