Wot is it? (1)
      #716128 - 09/10/2008 17:13

I was fiddling around earlier trying out (yet another) new lens that's just arrived and then clicking about in PaintShopPro and created this 'mystery pic':

So the question is 'wot is it'?

Find it here, if you can't guess (or CBA to):

(That's only silly farting about, but it's ermazing what you can do with a 'digital darkroom', ain't it? )

It's a latitude map for the rift valley?

Hah! That's not so far off asitappens - the 'artistic effect' on that is called 'Contour'!

Take a trip way off to the side of your monitor to flatten the image (and increase viewing angle to the max) and see if it becomes more obvious!

Is it really a photo of some tools?

Stop complaining - it could have been a pic of the spice rack!!

(The tools, spice rack, houses/cars out the back are some of my 'static standard test shots' for comparing the various lenses I've been buying off eBay lately! )

Like these, in fact:

Exciting aren't they?

(Handheld, manual everything snaps, but they tell me all I need to know!)

OK Fen, I guess that makes you the winner!

First prize is a reet dinky little Vivitar 2x Converter (Nikon fit) in pristine condition and only a slight 'compatability issue' - email me 25 quid to cover handling and administration and I'll pop it in the post to you!

Actually, those 'effects shots' of the screwhead looked a lot more interesting full size; here's the 'Contour' one:

And another one ('Brush Strokes' I think?):

All good stuff (if you like that sorta thing)!

Screw, head, no entry... I sense a theme here.
