Anyone use one which they can recommend??

Had a quick look at Fred Miranda's 'BW Workflow Pro Plugin v1.5.1' - I've got a couple other things from him/them and are very useful.

Have you tried the very quick method using 'Gradient map'?

Load your colour image
Select Image...Adjustments....Gradient map.
The image goes inverted monochrome.
Click on the gradient bar and pick the small tile that has a flyout 'Black & White'.
All done.
You can play with curves if you need to afterwards.

If you're using Photoshop have a look at this: B&W Conversions

Nice easy way of doing it with good (adjustable) results.
