I think that just about anywhere along the west coast of Wales is a beautiful spot for both landscape and cliff photography, but my favourite is probably the Aberystwyth area. The view from either Pen Dinas or Constitution hill is stunning, and both are easy enough to walk up even if you aren't in peak health. Plus there's the fenicular railway if you can't manage the walk.
I have some of the most wonderful sunset shots from there. Of course a lot of people do but I still love them

Ceredigion's Coastal Path is now complete and is open to walkers more or less for the full coastline.
I say more or less, because the owner of the farm park adjacent to Cardigan Island is taking them to Court for attempting to route the path through his land. I don't think he stands a chance, but it is a shame because it will ruin the business he has spent years developing. (It is one of the best spots to see the seals)
If you want to walk the Coast, I recommend starting on the Aberporth to Tresaith section. Wonderful views plus some varied vintage railway carriages parked on various cliff tops to photograph!
Best bays/beaches Mwnt,Penbryn, Aberporth & Llangrannog. Aberaeron is a picturesque Georgian town - with many colourful houses. Llannerchaeron (NT) is also within a few miles. Newquay is also worth a visit. Then the coastline gets a bit less "picturesque" and there is not a lot to photograph really until you go further North to the Aberystwyth section.
If you go to Aber, be sure to visit the Camera Obscura.

I agree with you about it being a good place to photograph seals, and have some sympathy for the farmer who is quite entertaining to talk to. However, I also recall that the cliff near the better vantage points could probably be treacherous, and the farmer might be better off if the path became free public access, as then I suspect he would not be liable if someone fell and tried claiming off him. (Not really sure about the legalities, though!)

The camera seemed to be out of order for two out of the three years I lived there! However they have now completed the renovation work up there, and its a nice set up with the cafe.
It's a beautiful walk-even the short walk from Aber to the beach at Llangorwen (over Consti hill) is gorgeous, and gives the chance for some superb photography.

Indeed, and I'll probably pop in to both of them in a couple of weeks' time.

I'll endorse what Paul says about Aberaeron, lovely picturesque town. But do avoid the Celtic Fish & Ship shop/restaurant at all costs. Probably the worst fish and chips in Wales.

It was OK the last time I was there, but that was a few years ago.

We were there last September. The only time I've ever returned a plate of fish and chips, so I guess that tells you I was a rather disgruntled customer. The problem these days is that so many 'fish & chip' shops now rely on pre-battered, frozen fish. It's never going to be the real thing, and on this particular occasion the fish - though cooked on the outside - remained frozen on the inside. (I once saw a cook fry ice-cream in batter, and the ice-cream remained frozen, on purpose). The chips were the frozen variety and the mushy peas were a disaster. I'm old-fashioned, I like fish to be fresh, dipped in batter and the tail tweaked just as it's dipped into the fat (or oil) as the best fish-fryers do (it gives the batter bubbles). Hope all this makes some kind of sense, Malcolm.

One of THE most spectular areas of Welsh, infact British coastline is that of Anglesey...often bypassed by tourists heading to Snowdonia, big mistake as it's stunning in places
