Is there any proof that the xd cards are "Power hungry"? ie. 2 sets of fully recharged 2.500ma /2.300ma batteries for aprox 250 shots? compared to 1,ooo shots on a Sandisc Ultra 11 cf card 2gb. With only one set of recharged batteries. Camera used....Fuji s-9100. [Read about this on the "Shutterbug" forum.] only ask because lately, on my S7000,switching from Olympus xd 1 gb. to a non generic cf 1gb... my batteries seem to last longer as well. [I use Energizer Ultimate lithium batteries.]
Don't know about that as I just use it as a back up emergency feature on my E-system cameras but they take ten times longer to format in camera than a CF card so it could be very well true!
