Does anyone have any experience of using the teleconverter (LA-DC58H) with the Canon G9. Are there any limitations e.g. AF/quality/light reduction? Is it easy to fit? Any comments welcomed before I buy. Thanks Phil

Will that work with the G9?
As the lens retracts during power-down, and assuming the teleconverter is on the end of the lens, it could do some damage to the leafed lens cover when it closes.

Yes it's compatible. I should have said that it needs a lens adaptor (LA-DC58H) with the teleconverter (TC-DC58C). I'm just wondering whether it really would be useful or whether in practice it's not very easy to use, especially as it wouldn't fit into the G9 custom case. Phil

Sorry I can't be more helpful Phil. As you say, it will be just another 'fiddly' bit that is easily lost and, at £20, not cheap.

I have a non-genuine similar adapter and W/A and tele lens. You lose a little IQ, may see some distortion and, of course, you need a bigger camera case if you walk around with them fitted. The adapter tube makes sure that there is no risk to the standard camera lens, or the rear of the extra lens
