Despite using the sensor clean function I could still see a dust mark on screen/print. Took a close up picture of a light grey wall to check on how much dust there is on the sensor and was horrified to see how much showed up against the pale background. So the question is what is the best way for me, a non technical cack handed person, to clean the sensor? Blow, brush or what? Any advice from practical experience gratefully received please. Cheers Jeff

You could try blowing with something like a 'Rocket Blower'
If that fails I'd suggest either sending it away to be cleaned (depends on where you want to send it) or buy a cleaning kit and do it yourself. For that I'd recommend Eclipse.

The Eclipse/Visible Dust system is what I use.
You can buy from WarehouseExpress, but I buy direct from their own website. Even with shipping it works out cheaper than going elsewhere. Their website is - visibledust.com
They have walk through videos and everything there. I think your sensor is 1.6 size, so look at the products for that size.

But a packet of the "corner" swabs is worth having too.

Yeah, most handy. And they double up as ear wax removers as well !

How do you get ear wax on your sensor?
By the way, my GP said one should not put anything smaller than one's elbow in one's ears, the skin is very sensitive and easily damaged leading to infections. So be careful.

I bought an excellent kit from these people; Camera Clean
The kit i got comprises of a sensor brush, blower and a few swabs, normally the blower is sufficient to remove any annoying dust, if not i use the brush (after being charged by the blower). If that does'nt remove the dust I use a SensorKlear pen, which is excellent at removing oiling/grease type marks from the sensor, I bought the pen from Jessops (needed it urgently)but they should be cheaper on ebay.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Dave
