LX3

Just read the review for the LX3, wondering if I'm the only one that's of the opinion the LX2 will do for now??
Wasn't looking for loads of pixels, just an improvement on images, it doesn't strike me a a massive leap if the review is to be believed.

I've not long since bought an LX2 and I leave it in 16:9 mode. I suppose that even with a cropped 16:9 mode the LX3 will be just fine but for me there's an attraction in knowing that the LX2 is meant to be 16:9.

The LX2 has a longer zoom but the possibility of lower noise with the LX3 might just swing the argument.

I don't regret buying an LX2 though, and I did see one heavily discounted in a local shop and a cheap LX2 has got to be worth considering.

Just reading the LX3 review and it says that you can only review the pictures in review mode. That's not the case with my LX2. In photo mode if you hit the down arrow you can review your pictures and step through them, a half press on the shutter returns the camera to photo mode.

I wonder if this is actually different on the LX3 or if the reviewer missed it?

I have only used the Leica equivalent of LX2 and I have the impression that noise at 400 ISO is better on that than on the LX3, despite what they say about Venus engines or whatever. For me ISO 400 on the LX3 is simply not good enough.
