Hi all
I am a bit desperate here as my underwater housing flooded during a diving holiday in the Red Sea (last week) and the camera was seriously damaged. The camera will turn on, but I think some water may have gone into the LCD and also getting a "Zoom error" message.
Was just wondering if anyone if aware of any Olympus resellers who may still have stocks of this camera - obviously it's discontinued. I've found one on amazon but the seller wants almost £300!!
Also, has anyone used the Olympus repair service?
How much do they charge? The camera is not covered by warranty.
thx

The best people to advise on repair are www.camera-repair.co.uk. They are an official Oly repairer. Good luck.

However, they only repair Olympus OM cameras (have just rang them). I need to contact Olympus direct.

TBH I doubt the camera is repairable. A while back someone in the Canon room posted a link to pictures of the inside of a salt water damaged DSLR - the amount of corrosion caused by even a slight ingress of water was quite revealing...

Sorry DK. Thought they repaired all types of Oly cameras. I'll strike them off my useful people to know list! As you say, the SP350 does not seem to be readily available any more. You may be looking at replacing it with a newer model I'm afraid.

no problem Rugby_nut
I've spoken to Olympus and the support person told me that liquid damage usually results in unrepairable damage. Sending the camera to them is still the only option as they might get me a reconditioned camera (same model or a similar model - SP320 and SP310, also discontinued). They quoted me a reasonable price so I guess I'll give it a go....
