Scanner diagnosis & calibration etc. -- can't pick up sky blue
      #707720 - 17/09/2008 13:48

My excellent Umax Powerlook XL A3 scanner has stopped picking up pale sky blue. As we scan watercolours for artists I need to fix this. can anyone please advise --
# what are the possible causes of this?
# how can I check if my scanner is picking up the right colours?
# what is the best software to use if I need to re-calibrate the scanner but don't want to spend a fortune?
thanks,
noel

Try downloading a colour test card and print it, then scan it to see what you get.
