Panasonic has just announced the world's first Micro-Four Thirds camera, the Lumix G1, creating a new market segment between compacts and DSLRs, and offering a real alternative to both. For those not familiar with the system it promises DSLR image quality (using the same sized sensor as the DSLRs) and interchangeable lenses but in a much smaller camera.
