Leeds meet (October)

The Yorkshire meet idea seems to be popular and as the vote narrowly indicating that a city meet would be more popular I'm putting forward Leeds. The only thing to decide is the date.

I was born in Leeds and lived their for 18 years. Since living there I have visited many times. I simply cannot think of anything in Leeds worth photographing.
Of course when I visit somewhere unfamiliar, no matter how mundane, there are photographic opportunities around every corner.

No offence, but to me that says a lot more about you than it does about Leeds.

Fair enough. I have even heard people brought up in the Lakes say things along similar lines. I suspect that for many of us the familar loses its impact.

As a Leeds Carnegie season ticket holder (rugby Union)
I drive over regularly, however though interesting, it is the most difficult city I have ever driven around. Both me and my son in law, who did his medical training there, and knows the city well, regularly get lost on the roads.

Doubt I'll be going now as herself has just got a new job which means I have to give up my Saturdays to babysit (which I don't mind at all since I work for myself) and Sundays will be spent together.
Besides that I've found Leeds a nightmare to drive around at the best of times, worked there several times in different parts and never really liked it. Nice architecture but a bit of a ****hole pardon my French. The best part of Leeds is the A64 back to York IMHO. But that's just me.. I'm sure others will love it - just not my cup of tea. (..and so no-one takes offence I'll throw a couple of in and a )
