Help.........ordered this one but it does not fit

But this is the Nikon one

Which looks like it has a screw plug on the end
There are are a few remotes out there that all claim to be for the D300 but when you look closely they have the push in plug
Where as this one has a screw plug and is dirt cheap
Ebay
And this one
Enjoy your camera
So which one do I buy do i wait and buy the Nikon genuine article or take a chance on one of the cheapos and do i need the screw in or the push in

Basically; any Nikon compatible remote with a 10-pin plug on it will work, the plug can be push-in or screw-on.

As I said the one I bought (and is now going back) is a push in plug and ten pin and will not fit And yet the blurb said suitable for the D300

Check the Nikon website for which Nikon remote goes with the D300. Easiest way

I did it said you need the MC-30 mine said it was the same as the MC-30 so are they telling lies or have I been had because the MC-30 has a screw plug this one has a push in and does not fit

I got one off flee-bay and the connection looks just like the one in the whorehouse impress shot, you PUSH the ten pin plug on,Then SCREW it on to keep it firm...

The 10 pin connectors can be good (tight) fits and you need to get the plug and socket properly alligned before they'll even think of fitting together. The non-genuine ones tend not to have the allignment marked on them, so have a good look at the plug and socket and make sure the splines line up properly.

I pushed and I pulled and still the plug would not fit
I didn't want to push to hard or I might have broken something so anyway its now gone back and I'm gonna sweet talk the other half for the Nikon one
Went out this morning and managed with out it I just used the timer

The Nikon remotes are expensive but they do work well, I have an MC20 that has been used with F90x F5, D1 and D2 bodies. I really can't recommend third party connectors, the remote will be OK but if the plug doesn't fit properly you have wasted your money.

Anyway just to update you all we contacted the company we bought the remote off and told them of the problem they said they had no complaints from other Nikon users and that there must be a fault with my camera Well I assured them that I had pushed pulled and twisted to no avail and they said they would give me a refund I then asked what to do with the remote they said............keep it it's doesn't work on your camera
So I now have a Free remote that I can't use have to put it on Ebay methinks lol
