How nice, won't take me long to know how to use it ... all the controls are the same and in the same place as my a700 ... that's proper joined-up thinking from Sony.

As expected the vertical grip is separate and I'm glad about that as it keeps the bulk down. $3,000 should be near £2,000 with a bit of luck. It seems so "reasonably" priced that it might not tumble in price over the coming months. At least that's an argument worth trying with the other half.

Sony Store price will be £2100 but it will be cheaper in other dealers I'm sure.

Of course not...............its a Sony and as we know, they are not classed as a `pro` camera, just wait until the new Canon comes out, theres a good chance that will make the main page:p

Funny boyz!
Actually the reason is that the news editor (Chris Cheesman) is away on holiday, as is the tech ed, and I am away with Sony looking at the A900 - and very nice too!
I will have a report for you soon. And it's not just Sony - there's been no news all week.
No news is ... bad timing.

Its a shame warehouse express did not stick to their initially posted price of £1680 before they raised it to match Jessop's and everyone else.
Maybe someone from Sony saw the page...
