Was that qualified by 'for the price'. But I do agree the Pentax/Samsung camera is a craking piece of kit. I had a trip to a local farmers show here and the sun shone for a while. (yes, honest it did!). I took some photos of the 'Best in Show' heifer and the detail in the animal's coat was amazing. Still cannot consider changing it, even for a D300, the cost does not justify itself.

I don't know how they qualified the scores but the Samsung was reviewed last autumn, so the reviews might be suffering from moving goalposts. Still, it made me smile. I'd really like to have a play with a D3/D700 just to see what they were like, and to take the same photo on one of those versus my GX-10 to see how different the images were. In truth, though, if someone gave me the money to buy a D700, I think I'd probably stick with the GX-10 and buy an A3 printer and an extreme wide-angle lens instead. And still have enough left over for a good holiday.

Hi John,
Straight trade, perhaps but for a Pentax I would definitely want £/$ plus the Nikon
Cheers,
Jack

I've heard and read nothing but good about the GX10, especially from users, some of whom have moved over from other systems. Samsung/Pentax do seem to be producing some good stuff.

They always did in the past, just went a bit astray, or rather fell behind, with the *ist offerings.
Good to see them climbing back up the hill. Now how about a ring flash PLEASE!

This is exactly what I do not understand about these reviews. Trusted Reviews gives the GX10 10/10 for image quality but DPREVIEW give it (albeit the Pentax K10D) only 7.5/10

Cloudy day, depressing outlook, bad headache, toothache, just didn't like it......Who knows, who cares, I know what the camera can do and that is all that matters to me. I love my K10D.

I like Trusted Reviews, but even I think they were a bit over-enthusiastic about the GX-10. The reality is that images on the Samsung and the Pentax are, for all practical purposes, identical, as has been shown in many comparative reviews.
