Positive discrimination?
      #688355 - 08/08/2008 11:46

Other parts of the Forum are awash with complaints about the slow response times of our pet hamster, but my responses have been good all week.

Does this also apply to other Oly users and if so is it Hammy's attempt to level the playing field?

Roger

It's probably because you only get 82% of the forum's functionality.

It's an odd thing - sometimes it works fine for me when others are complaining, at other times it's terrible. It's certainly caused plenty of problems this week - the number of duplicate posts is ridiculous.

Well, I'm currently stuck with a dial-up connection while my broadband is fixed, yet despite this, I still seem to be trundling along ok. Yes, Hammy seems to be on our side, or was. Isn't he dead now?

I've noticed over the last few days that quite often I can't get any web/internet response at all from my broadband connection, but the old 40k dial-up is fine - but obviously as slow as it used to be. I'm certainly no expert, but as this is happening during the school holidays, I guess that someone close to me is hogging the capacity of my local (mobile) broadband terminal by downloading whole films or whatever.
