Can any one reccomend a decent flash gun for use with the E410. I have a Vivitar thats off my 35mm camera but a bit loath to try, i'd much prefer a digital dedicated if there is one.
Thanks dikko

Olympus FL-36. excellent flash, bounce and swivel head, auto zoom and high level of integration with Olympus 4/3 cameras while still allowing full manual control if required.

If you do use an older flash check the trigger voltage first, some old flashes could fry the electronics of an modern camera.

I agree; the FL36 is an excellent unit and does everything I need it to. If I had any citicism, I would say its a tad underpowered for recycling time. It's better with rechargeable batteries. Other than that, it has great functionality and is easy to use. Make sure you understand the difference between the FL36 and the FL36R. With an E-410 you can take advantage of a cheaper deal on the now discontinued FL36 as the radio/remote facility of the FL36R won't work on your E-410.

I think you'll find the FL36 is discontinued now. You have to get the FL36R (unless of course there is some stock of the older one about).

My psychic abilities are growing apace! Mrs Rugby-Nut works for a well known department store chain and has just told me they have an FL36 in stock for £99 minus our extremely handy discount. It's on its way home as we speak. Another thing crossed off my wish-list

Incidentally, does anyone know whether the FL36 will work in sync with a FL36R that is remote?

Do you mean - can the FL36 be mounted on your E-520 and an FL36R placed remotely, whereupon both will trigger in synch when you take a picture? I would have thought so, but don't know for sure. I can't really think why it wouldn't. If I've got the wrong end of the stick here, sorry.

That's handy re Mrs Rugby-Nut finding an FL36 for you. Now about your psychic ability; should I buy a Euro-Millions ticket tomorrow?

Dont bother - I've already got the winning ticket

When she phoned I did dither for a few moments thinking whether I should save up a bit more for the new R version. Then I thought - s*d it - it's a sign

Mind you, another damn great manual to wade through!
