EOS 10D for 248 quid!
      #686552 - 04/08/2008 16:04

I just saw one for sale for £240 second hand, body only, and i'm gutted cos the shop doesn't accept part exchange. Should i expect it to be a decent camera at that price?

MXV have a mint 20D for the same money, I'd reckon that's a better buy.

I'd reckon it ought to be in at least very good condition at that price. Typically I can't find one in the usual on-line dealers to check the price but I'm fairly sure that I've seen them in AP lately at £199.

MXV have a 20D listed at £249 in "mint-" and another in "Exc+" at £320 ( -possibly it's either a typo and should be 30D or has a lens included)... From recollection 20D's seem to go for roughly £250-299 so I'd say the 10D appears a little over priced...

Thanks guys, but we don't have an MXV nearby and don't drive. I'd like to be able handle the camera first anyway and i know this small camera shop. But if i cant flog my current cameras it won't make a difference.

Well having shopped around it seems its not worth selling my 2 cameras,(EOS 300 and Panasonic FZ7)I wouldn't get enough for them to make it worthwhile

20D for £199 with lens...I thought that 10D sounded hugely expensive. You can pick up 30D's for only a hundred pounds or so more. Park Cameras

I have been waiting for the fabled 5d replacement so I can have a two body set up with my current 30d as a back up body, however, a SH 30d or 20d could be a reasonable compromise, not a bad idea! interesting!

A 10D is worth considering if only because it's so quiet compared to a 20D, for situations when you want to be unobtrusive.

Or £370 on a nine-month-old 40D(P&P included) as I did!

It's just a matter of being well-informed and patient.
