Replacement Battery
      #686419 - 04/08/2008 09:35

Sorry for an obvious repeat question but my forum search skills have let me down.

Where do you recommend that I should buy replacement batteries for my KM-7D. The battery is marked NP-400.

I can find several places on the web with apparently correct specification but different manufacturers and very different prices (e.g. 9.99 and 19.99 from the same store - with apparently identical spec.).

Does anyone have a recommendation please?

Mick,

I've got a couple of These as backups to my original NP400s in my VCG700 grip.

I'd phone first to check stock levels though

Thanks Ron,
I was hoping that you would pop in.

It said stock 'plenty' so I've ordered a couple.

Don't quote me on this, but when I was looking for a spare battery for my Sigma SD14 I did a bit of research and I believe the Minolta NP400 battery will operate my camera, so I'd imagine it works the other way around too, the Sigma BP21 battery may work with your camera.

Hi Mick,

You can, also, use the same battery as the Pentax K10D and Pentax K20D and/or
their after-market replacements As a matter of fact, I know a few Pentax users
who were picking up K/M NP400 batteries just after K/M downfall

Check here for a list of places to pick up the Pentax batteries

cheers,

Jack

Thanks guys,

I got a couple from 7day and have charged them. One is in the camera now but has not yet discharged so I can't yet estimate how long it will last compared with the original.

I had 2 batteries (that I bought from 7 day shop)in my dynax 7d grip when I went to the waddington airshow 2 years ago, and they had plenty of power left in them after taking 700 pictures during the day.

So I dont think you should have any problems.
