Aug08 comp " Landscape with a standard lens " Closed
      #685465 - 31/07/2008 23:44

August - "Landscape with a standard lens"

How's it look with one eye shut?

landscape=countryside=seascape=urban=industrial

We are programmed through the propaganda of popular belief that landscapes should be shot either wideangle with dramatic foreground or telephoto as a Tuscan house appears across the misty valley. Get a sense of reality and shoot this month's theme with a lens standard for your system.

135 -------------------- between 40-50mm
medium formats ----- between 80-90mm
5x4 -------------------- between 150-180mm
APS-C sensor -------- between 28-35mm

and so on.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. PLEASE DO NOT POST IMAGES until you have read the Posting Images – Maximum Sizes etc sticky on this forum.

2. Images must not exceed 600 pixels x 600 pixels

3. File sizes must be under 100kb (102,400 bytes)

IMAGES THAT DON’T CONFORM TO THESE RULES WILL BE DELETED! Do not post TWICE in the comp - ask a moderator to correct or alter your original entry if you are having a problem.

4. Images must be embedded in this thread (click on reply in this post). - Note: Images are judged only on the size embedded in this thread.

5. Images must have a suitable title in the subject line.

7. No links please - embed only! (Technical details should be kept to a minimum)

8. One entry only per person is allowed. If you need to change it, please contact a moderator with new URL and reason why. Note: bear in mind that changes to the monthly comp are not continuous and should be used only as a last resort.

If you want comments on your work, or you want to comment on other members work, please post in the Comments thread provided.

Good luck!

PS. If you're new to embedding images in forums and you're having problems, don't forget you have approx. ONE HOUR to try something else - if at the end of that time your still having a problem, contact a moderator.

PPS. If you need help with resizing images etc, then PM a moderator with details of the image manipulation program you're using (if you have one) and they’ll get back to you a.s.a.p. Note: there are free programs you can use in the ‘Posting Images – Maximum Sizes etc’ sticky.

45mm which I think is 67mm equivalent and is pretty standard for my 17-70mm.

Taken with a Lubitel and it's 75mm lens. Image cropped to a 6x4.5 frame (easier than using the 6x4.5 frame mask that came with the camera).
