Hi all,
I have now had my fisheye for around a month, and really like this lens.
Its so creative, you can really produce some unusual results.
The purple fringing is a problem though. The lens is really sharp and produces nice results abouve f8.
A lens I can recommend for your Pentax/Samsung.

Can you reduce the fringe effect in PS Camera raw?

If you look on my DeviantArt page at some of the Cowdray pics (full size), you can see the purple fringing clearly. If I try and correct it in PS (lens distortion correction) then a green fringe appears on the other side of the object!
Other than that it really is a great lens, any ideas on how to remove the fringing greatly appreciated though......

I've had some sucess using this GIMP script. It works by locally reducing saturation of the fringing colours around high contrast edges. Of course, you'll need to download the GIMP in order to run the script, and it adds another step to post processing, but I have found that it reduces the PF in some of the shots from my Fuji S9500 (which is quite bad at wide angle) from "annoying" to "unnoticeable" on medium szed prints, say 10x8". And because of the way that it works, it's unlikely to introduce new artefacts.

It will depend also on the type of subject - branches against sky are a particular problem. In extremis I make a monochrome conversion and that obviously totally eliminates the problem.

There was a lens supplement in AP a while back that had a couple of handy tips.
One is to create a saturation adjustment layer, select the magenta colour range then using the dropper options select the exact colour of the purple fringing and desaturate using the slider.
Another method suggested is to duplicate the image and blur the duplicate layer by 5 pixels. Change the blend mode of the duplicate to Colour and the original image reappears largely minus the fringing. In the AP article this was mainly aimed at red fringes but I find it also works on purple.
One issue with both methods is that they can adversely affect other parts of the image so what I tend to do is apply a mask and paint on the mask to reveal the adjustment only where it's needed.
Another method I have used is to create a blank layer set to Saturation mode and then paint with black, on this layer, over the fringing which desaturates it. Fine control can be achieved either by painting at less than 100% brush density or by lowering the layer opacity afterwards.
PS
Something on your deviant art link generates an error message in IE7 about a script causing the browser to run slowly and or crash (it crashed). Don't know whether this affects other browsers or just IE7 but might need looking at...
