Might... Just might... be going to Pembrokeshire in September. Depends on work.
But looking for recommendations for good coastal photography.
Hopefully staying with friends in Broad Haven and using their place as a base to travel out to different places.
Any other "MUST SEE" places? It's not an area of Wales that I'm familiar with so completely new to me.
Many thanks

Hi Fen, You simply have to walk along the coastal paths for endless coastal photo opps. Walk South from Broad Haven and depending how fit you are, you will find stunning views of coast, sea and bird life out to sea. StBrides is a favorite of mine - best to take the car although the track to the tiny bay and church is narrow. Skommer Island is another must day trip - you may need to book in advance as visitor numbers are controlled. A visit to St Davids is essential, on the way you will pass through Solva – pretty, and the coastal path past the old lime kilns eventually leads you to yet more coastal scenery. At St Davids, the Cathedral and old Bishops palace are mandatory, but then head off to the St Justinians life boat station and enjoy the views towards Ramsay Island. The beaches offer so much scope for close/up macro pics also. I`ve spent many happy times in these places and no doubt will again later this year. Chris (ps if you surf then Whitesands bay and Newgale are good, if not just enjoy the waves anyway!)

Just back from there myself. St Davids for sure. I stayed at the Stackpole Inn on the recommendation of Fellow Forumite Hotblack (thanks David)and the area around Stackpole has endless opportunities (see their site). Also check out the National Trust site for more info on the area. Go to the Inn for a meal, you won't be disappointed. Skomer if you have the time - one thing I wasn't prepared for was the wind strength which made it hard at times to get crisp shots, the monopod helped.

Fen, The area of coast between Fishguard and St. Davids is outstanding, you must go to Pwllderi and to Strumble Head. To north of Fishguard is Dinas Island, circular walk around the island, a headland, for great views, park at Pwllgwaelod at one end of walk or Cwm yr Eglwys at other. Great colours at that time of year from the wild flowers on coast path. Have a great time. Regards Ray

St Govans Head, Stackole Head. The coast path around there is stunning. Marloes sands is worth a visit for the rock outcrops all over the beach. Barafundle bay is beautiful with no vehicular access; you have to park in Stackpole or Stackpole Quay to get to it. Tenby is picturesque. Pembroke is a dump and best avoided.
The pub in Dale (The Griffin) is fabulous as is the Angle Bay Inn in......errr.....Angle. Actually it's on a track just out of the village heading out to Angle point. You think you are heading to nowhere. A great place for a pint. There's a great day's walk in the area. If you park at West Angle Bay walk south and then east around the coast until you get to Freshwater West. Cut back across the peninsula via Bageston Woods and down to Angle. Head out to Angle Point (stopping at the pub for refreshment) before finishing off the last part of the walk along the north section before coming back around to the car park at West Angle Bay. Beautiful scenery all day.
Try not to miss out on the Cresselli Arms at Cresswell Quay. The barrels are racked behind the bar and the beer drawn off in to a jug before being poured in to a pint pot.
Further north there's St. David's. Porthgain is worth a look for the industrial remains overlooking the harbour.
In fact the whole area is superb..........which isn't really helpful, is it?

Aberaeron is a very attractive harbour. If I spelt it right. Don't ask me to say it, I might never end! JH
