Well, this UK resident will never buy a digital frame until they start being produced with a reasonable resolution (to match that on camera sensors), come down to a reasonable price and are self-powered by solar cells.
Even the cr*ppiest "one hour photo" enprints give me a lot more pleasure to look at than a £100 digital frame.

Horses for courses.
They are damned handy for tech-phobic Grandparents who don't have a PC or DVD player, but who do like regularly updated pix of their Grandchildren on hand to show their friends at home. And, as tech-phobes, they don't give a flying proverbial about digital quality, they're just chuffed to have the images.

Grandparents come in many differnt flavours. Not all of us are tech-phobic. Personally I have seven grandchildren, five PCs and yes one photo frame.
All the PCs have different operating systems and are needed to support older versions of my programs XP / Vista / DOS etc.
I do fancy that solar powered photo frame that Beejaybee has just promissed me!

Some of the fancier ones are excellent as digital noticeboards - giving people a sample of what goes on in places
we are looking into getting one for the DMG

Sorry if you felt missunderstood - that was not intended. I just wanted to stick up for Grandparents in general

Your loss. We have a 7" one in the lounge and it's great. It's view from about 8 feet away when sitting down so the resolution isn't an issue and certainly doesn't have to match a camera's sensor. Power's not a problem as we have managed cabling built into our alove cabinets.
The beuty of it comes in the fact that the images change, whihc is great for us and better for guests.

I dunno, women, eh...
Just when you've broke in a pair of trousers, shoes, a shirt, or jacket they're in the wardrobe giving 'em away to some charity, or wiping the floor with 'em!
