I have a Canon 450D which is the first digital SLR I have had. When taking photos with compacts in the rain you can shield most of the camera normally.
However I am wondered if the digital SLR's or the Canon itself and the lense are splash proof? If not what do people use when taking photographs in the open with drizzle or rain coming down? Do you get covers for them?
Thanks

you use that but all i do is carry some see through plastic bags, when it rains just put it over the camera, make a whole in the end and attach it to the hood with a rubber band. costs nothing(just a little looking through your house) works just as well.
