Lulwoth Cove, Lyme Regis, Chesil Beach, Portland Bill, Old Weymouth, Kimmeridge, Corfe Castle or pretty much anywhere along that stretch of coast.

Sounds like you want to miss the done to death tourist traps; if you want less well known locations try Kimmeridge bay, St Albans head, Chapmans Pool, Seacombe, & Dancing ledges, all towards the east end of the Purbeck coast, inland from that coast you have Kingston, Worth Matravers (don't miss the Square and Compass there) Corfe Castle village has some very nice purbeck stone cottages, there are also some nice spots along the rivers Frome and Piddle.

Going west from Kimmeridge you will come up against the firing ranges danger area stretching to Lulworth. West from Lulworth to Weymouth doesn't have much of note.

Portland has plenty of rock, further west still you come to Burton Bradstock, Bridport and West Bay, Charmouth, Chideock and Lyme Regis.

Well inland is Blackmoor vale, Bulbarrow hill, Shaftesbury and loads of small villages off the beaten track, a lot of thatched roofs and flint walls. Some nice views on parts of the rivers Stour, Tarrant and Allen.

Will that do for a start?

Cheers, MIKE

The army cease firing on the Lulworth range for the summer this weeekend, making the walks open from 26/7/08 until 31/08/08. Well worth the effort!

I've about 30 photos from between St Albans Head and Durdle Door on My Flickr pages if you want to see the lay of the land first.....
