Hi everyone, im going to my friends sons first birthday party....need some advice on the best mode to shoot in?? is it better to stick to auto or manual?? I will be taking photos outside (weather permitting)and indoors.....

Ummm kids and
"Hold on a minute Little Johnny while i play with me Dials"
is gonna sound like ooooops i just got a shot of the Family cat's Ar*e cause little Johnny is all hyper and has done a disappearing trick whilst said Photographer is player with their piccy machine.

I would set it to Auto and run with it.. ....I Think

Continuous drive as well!! Those kids can't half run quick!!

The best pics will be those that haven't been set up. I agree, AUTO, and just snap away. Indoors (& outdoors, possibly) might need flash.

I disagree, set it to Shutter priority and pick your minimum shutter speed (c1/250 I would guess) no point shooting at 1/30 if the kids are hairing round. If you're going to set anything to auto set your ISO to auto to make sure that you still get the shots.
