Budget Buying Advice Please
      #675897 - 07/07/2008 21:56

Hello everyone,

Please can someone recommend a digital camera which falls into the sub £65 bracket please. I appreciate that the choices are limited but the camera will only be used for basic photos such as days out with friends etc, I would prefer to buy new as it is a gift. I found the Kodak Easyshare z1275 or would I be better going for a Samsung such as the s830?

Any other recommendations would be much appreciated.

Have a look here:

You can just about get a Canon Powershot.
Your local Currys and Boots and maybe Argos should be doing a Kodak compact for around £60 new too. I'd get that in preference to the Samsung.
If you want to risk buying used, well I have bought a Canon Powershot S60, S70 and S80 each for under £50. I really must give up buying second-hand cameras! I'm running out of room to keep them (and OK, all of the 3 I quoted just now were bought damaged and I repaired them)

If you shop around on the high street (namely; Argos) you'll be surprised to see how many sub £70 camera's there are, if you budget's that tight have you factored in the cost of memory card & case etc ?., Argos tend to have good deals from time to time. Failing that ebay's the obvious choice, I saw a few brand new Fuji E900's not so long ago close to you amount, vivitars are normally dirt cheap, but don't know anything about them (if good or not).

Amazon & Play.com are also worth a look.

Good Luck.
