Spotted this spider in my garden yesterday, it's the ball attached to it's abdomen that caught my attention, is this normal ?

Aye, it's quite common to see female wolf spiders (Lycosidae) carrying egg sacks attached to the spinners. When the spiderlings hatch they climb onto the abdomen for a week or so (something I want to photograph!).
Good job on the pic...is all to easy to spook wolf spiders and make them run away. Am rubbish at IDing these (and I'm told they can be difficult to ID correctly) but I think the first bit of it's name is Pardosa...no idea abut the 2nd bit of the name!
