Scale

Went down the beach, got annoyed about not being able to use CLS due to the sun overpowering me, so just wacked the sb-800 onto the camera.

Decided to redo it, to reduce the contrast and gain back a bit more detail

Like that, fab shot, prefer the 1st one though.

Whats CLS, presume sb-800 is a soopa doopa flash?

Cheers, Harry

CLS is nikons wireless lighting system.

Unfortunately the version for the built in flash relies on line of sight, and light levels. So it wouldnt work from the distance/angle I wanted.

It is a great flashgun though, I may just have to get some wireless bits for it. (radio frequency type)

Why do you prefer the first one btw? Just want to know, I'm still learning as is everyone here.

Well Ade I can only hope to get shots like that some day but I like the 1st one because for my eye at least the foreground is too light (and therefore stands out too much) in the 2nd one, also theres that highlight in the bottom right corner which draws the eye - only IMHO ofcourse.
Great shot though.

No, I can see where you're coming from. and I agree about the foreground (I think I went overboard with the dodging!)

Do the skin tones look better in the 2nd though? Or is this just me being hopeful for the extra time I spent on it

Thanks for the interest

Yeah, that ones better.

Skin tones are better in modded ones
