Before I drop $$$ (or even just $ on used gear) I'd like to know what I'm getting into.
I presume the tripods with umbrellas with light gear is the way to go, but beyond that, what *kind* of gear? The bulbs themseleves, are they all one K rating, or what?
A website to sort this ouot, or general adive is most appreciated.
Cheers!

Nelson - 111. That's one arm, one leg and one eye missing, even though Lord Nelson had both his legs. It's cricket terminology and is supposed to be an unlucky score. The Australians are scared of 87 instead.

Surprisingly, despite the legends, Nelson also had both eyes. He was blinded in one of them but still had both of them. Apparently, although he got a payment from the Admiralty for the missing arm, their surgeons never admitted that the eye was truly blind (it was apparently unscathed) so he never recived a payment for the blindness.

I used Bowens when I did some studio work many years ago (late 80's). So when I found some second hand kit in a local photography shop a couple of years ago I bought it.
The kit I bought was two cases each case comprises of two flash heads, tripod stands and power leads. There are a selection of brollies, remote flash triggers, cable triggers and a snoot.
I am happy with this as I paid very little money for (old) but good quality studio flash.
I can give you more info if you wish just let me know.
