Well, it's an easy choice for me as David Bailey is the only one still alive!
When did Snowdon die then! I must have missed that bit of news and I think he did too
I didn't vote as I wouldn't want to go to dinner with a photographer - I'm sure we'd only bore the pants off each other.

Do you mean a pi$$ up in the pub would be more appropriate?

I hate portraiture, it looks what it is, posed! unless its candid. But it would still have to be Bailey, he's brash, flamboyant and was the man of the moment in his time.

I think it's wise never to meet your heroes - I've read biographies of most of mine and they are nearly all complete toss...
Except Linda Smith - she seemed really lovely but not a great photographer as far as I know.

I think dinner with Roger Hicks would be interesting. He would probably be the most likely one to take a genuine interest in my questions. I would find the evening to my liking and I would come away a little wiser. I think the wine and the food would be special too.

I put Bailey, as he's a scruffy get who appears to be more at home with a pub lunch and several pints..
Met Eve Arnold once, she was a nice woman.

Is a winky emoticon really strong enough to take the edge off calling Ansell Adams an idiot??!!???
Having said that I'd invite Edward Weston, partly because he was clearly a really good party soul and partly because his brilliance has fired on for generation after generation in the Weston line...
...I also love his day books and the generosity of the man - to record such fine detail for the unknown future.
Oh yer, and because his shells and his toilet are sublime!

Well for mine the winky was superfluous, the fact is that the 18% grey card is idiotic and twas Mr Ansel Adams who foisted it on the world.
