Hello all
After a weekend away, and about 500 pictures on a 2gb card, I've got home to find some of the files corrupted, and not being able to copy any of the files from the card with windows explorer.
I've downloaded a piece of software which seems to be recovering the files, albeit slowly (9 1/2 hrs to go) but my question is...
Should I bin the card, a 2gb jessops branded SD card, or will it be ok after a format. Last time, i formatted it in the PC instead of in the camera. Is it this that has caused the errors?
Cheers

I wouldn't say it's caused the error but it certainly won't have done any good.
Buy a new card but reformat this one and use it for something non-critical. It will probably be OK.

When you get the card back from the recovery software delete all files from the card on the pc and then format it in camera. Once the card is formatted take test shots and then try to download them to computer as normal...repeat format in-camera, test shots and download until you're confident the card either works normally or doesn't

The prices Jessops charges for memory cards is a bit of a standing joke here. I assume you'll not be getting the new one from them? I use Sandisk Extreme III cards (currently a 2 Gb SD card comes in around £15-£20) and have never had a problem. They are often recommended here and mine came with an image recovery CD in case of any problem.
