Saving files as tiff in Capture NX/Lightroom
      #648569 - 28/04/2008 11:23

Hi

I've tried saving my worked on raw files as tiff files, then resizing etc in Elements 3.

When I then go to save the file in Elements 3, I only get the options to save as PSD, JPEG2000 and a few other things but not jpeg.

Why is this? I am finding it very frustrating.

Thanks

Matt

Are you working in 16 bit mode? An image cannot be saved as JPEG without being converted to 8 bit mode first. Some image editor programs do this without asking you, which is A Bad Thing (tm) as you're irrevocably losing image quality when you throw the less significant bits away.
