Has anyone submitted a Panorama
      #646803 - 23/04/2008 15:11

Hi Folks,
Has anyone ever submitted a panorama in module 1? I am just about there with the images for module 1 and although I don't think at this stage I will put my panorama in I did think that I would at least ask the question.

It was a panorama that got me back into photography after buying a point and shoot for holiday pics and finding that with the supplied software I could produce something, which for me, was a little different.

The problem that I can see is that we are restricted to an A4 sized picture which is somewhat limiting for a panorama but other than that I cannot see a particular issue - that is unless someone tells me something different.

I'm still working on my mod 1 submission. However, the way I read the instructions was that pictures musn't exceed A4, I didn't see anything about them having the same proportions as A4. Perhaps one of the tutors will get a chance to clarify?

Good Luck

Hi, happy to answer that - print a panorama in a strip across an A4 sheet and voila!

The A4 restriction is to stop 20 X 16s arriving - don't laugh, it's happened!

Thanks Garry. I suppose that the reduced height of the picture will not suffer too much when viewed as it is only viewed at 72dpi. I suppose the "quality" was really my concern.

I can certainly understand the 20 x 16 syndrome. 20 x 16 is a good size though and brings back many happy memories of those darkroom days...

Hey!!

Somebody else admitting to being old enough to have had a darkroom!! My aim is to get as technically proficient with CS3 monochrome prints as I used to be many years ago with a 'wet' darkroom.

Some of us were too embarrassed to admit it - but I'll put my hands up to having a darkroom in the 70's!

Similar aim really. Hope to improve on the old days, as I was not too hot then. Not too hot now but trying harder, you have to with age.
