Just wondering aloud (in other words I might try it later, but I'm seeking justification ...) but, what would happen if you exposed a piece of photo paper (anything would do, a pinhole image being highly appropriate) and then quickly scanned it?
Would the light from the scanner ruin the image, or would a reasonable image be obtained by the scanner?
There's only one way to find out...

Umm, well, unless you use printing out paper (if you can still get the stuff) then the image on the paper would only be latent, so there wouldn't actually be anything for the scanner to ruin. Unless you stuff the exposed paper through the developer tray first, in which case you might as well fix it too.

Well, I meant ruin as in hugely-over-expose and turn the whole thing black. Anyway, I tried it.
