The missus wants to go to Riga next month for a few days. I confess to knowing very little about the place.
So, what are it's main attractions? Beer price? Food specialities? Also, pointers on the best places to stay would be helpful. And lastly, is their anything worth photographing
Thanks in advance.

Sorry I can't help. I hoped it would be Riga on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland. I hope you enjoy it anyway. Some links below. Riga Riga Riga

I used to live in Switzerland too
From the websites Riga does look rather nice, but is this just a glossy view? I was hoping for some personal experience, looks like I will have to suck it and see for myself
Thanks again.

Just for the record and should anybody be visiting Riga I have some pictures here.
I can report that Riga (Latvia), is well worth a long weekend especially for lovers of architecture and especially if that is Art Nouveau style. It's a small city so a few days are enough to sample the flavour. Don't go expecting it to be like other former Soviet controlled states, it's influences are more Scandinavian. That is also reflected in the costs (especially dining), overall cleanliness and what seems to be a very high standard of living.
