The settings for 2 and 4 and the overall image quality is great. How did you light the second image? Backlight and light straight onto the model?

The lighting set up was: 1 flash on the ground behind her facing forward on 24mm, blue gelled with a chocolate wrapper (quality street - the blue one). Key light camera right at eye level. I think it softened with my home made ringflash adater, but may have been bare and on 24mm as well. ETTL via IR reomte. 1/13s f/4.0 at 17.0mm iso400 which was about a stop under for the ambient
