Yeah, well don't let it go to your head. I just said that I loved it, not that it was gonna be a winner

Don't worry Chris. The only thing that goes to my head is the bevvy (and I'm trying to reshoot it on my new camera to get better colours and more "pop" )

I got a 40D a couple of weeks ago and have had nothing but bad luck since ...had the 40D on my back when I hit a rock and broke my toe last weekend. Don't worry, the camera is alright

What about the rock?
The new camera sound nice though. Have you taken a close up of your toe?

Please don't say that...I agree that there are some great images posted so far, but that should spurn you on even more to have a go....something simple like a very close up angled shot of a cloths peg could clinch it....go on....give it a go...I know I will

It is my trusty old 180 Tamron – it is a bit of a cracker, I was going to do one of my recent butterflies but Richard (OneTen) beat me to it...
You need to give these a go, you don’t need a macro to do good close up, some simple extension tubes will give you some great results…

A flatbed scanner can be a useful tool for getting 1:1 images of some things, but read the brief - it has a degree of latitude such that you don't need to have a macro lens to fulfil the competition requirements.
