This orchid was photographed recently at the Royal Horticultural Gardens at Wisley. They have recently opened a new spectacular Glass House and there was an exhibition of orchids in the entrance foyer. I used the Pentax 100mm f2.8 lens on the K10D, 1/125th at f3.5, ISO 200 with the camera on a tripod.

Thats a nice image Richard, well composed and you have the entire insect in focus. I take it another one with the 100mm macro? Great fun these lenses.

What a fine selection of early entries - sets the standard for others.
Dave Cox, 'Corvette', is that your reflection in the bottom of the image?

Yeh, to get the straight on angle I had lean over slightly. I could have tried to clone it out, but I don't like makinmg too many adjustments. This has been cropped to the square format but not much else has been done.

Had me worried there for a moment. I thought you were going to post a close-up of Ermintrude and the RGB stood for Really Got Brave....
