HI
Can you let me know what you think ? I am fairly new to this and took this yesterday - when we were in the park.

Excellent capture, love it. Black headed gulls in their first winter plumage I think.

Tricky devils to catch in flight aren't they? 
In picky picky mode I would say it's a slight pity you lost a wing tip... in real world mode I'd say that's a good start.

I know I really wanted to try again today to get them to do it again but there were none in the park !! The day before Blooming hundreds of them and then today NOTHING Oh well...
Do you think this classes as an ACTION Shot ? I am not sure if i will be putting this forward but if I was then do you think that will be ok to put that forward ?

Well there is plenty of action. It is in focus and grabs the attention. It is a pity about the wing tip, but next time try a slightly wider view and then crop the image a little.
I would suggest you crop this to a square format and lose the sky to the left of the picture, it is empty and adds nothing. A tighter crop will add impact.
